Our Managing Director, Nicky Cave, starting advising families about their
Eldercare Group was set up by Nicky some 5 years later and now specialises exclusively in providing advice about paying for long-term care. We pride ourselves on offering trusted, jargon-free advice that gives our customers clarity, reassurance and peace of mind. When it comes to financial products, we are usually told to ‘shop around’ but if you are speaking with our Care Fees Advisers, you don’t need to.
Our Head office is in Hertfordshire but we have Advisers in Liverpool, Essex, Gloucestershire and Hampshire. That said, any initial consultation would usually be telephone, Skype (or Zoom!) and correspondence sent by post and email to ensure a full and clear audit trail. Location is not, therefore, usually an issue and the Care Providers that we deal with are all over the UK.
All our Advisers are accredited by the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) and they can get you quotes from all Insurance Companies offering care fees annuities (currently four). Two of these Companies have only recently launched their care fees annuities and chose Eldercare Solutions to be their launch partner.
There is no cost or obligation for us carrying out the research for you and we will write a Care Fees Funding Report for you once we have all underwritten quotes. Even if you decide, after receiving your Report, that the care fees annuity is not for you, the document should have served as a useful family discussion document and as evidence that you researched all funding options.
This is an important factor if you are acting in a legal capacity as an Attorney or Deputy. All quotes will be inclusive of our arrangement fee which is only payable if you make a purchase.
Meet the team
Managing Director & SOLLA Accredited Adviser
Nicky is Eldercare’s founder but is still very much involved in day to day client advice and she works tirelessly to shape the Company as the gold standard in Care Funding Advice. Her knowledge and expertise mean that she is regularly consulted with by Insurers, Care Providers, Journalists and other Professional Advisers alike. She has won several awards over the years although she probably won’t tell you about all that.
SOLLA Accredited Adviser
Michael joined the team in 2007 having started a career in Financial Services in 1993. His desire to specialise in care funding advice stemmed from his wife’s 7-year experience as Matron of a nursing home where he observed the lack of information and advice that families received about their funding options. Feedback from Michael’s clients is always exceptional and confirms what a safe pair of hands you are in if he is your adviser.
SOLLA Accredited Adviser
Penny is a fully qualified Independent Financial Adviser and joined the Eldercare team in 2014 so that she could further develop the relationships she had with Care Providers and Professional Connections in her local area. This feedback from one of Penny’s clients totally sums up her approach: “her friendliness and professionalism, together with her ongoing patience was exactly what was called for and nothing was too much trouble”.
SOLLA Accredited Adviser
Julie has been recognised by the FT as one of the top ten female Independent Financial Advisers in the country so we are delighted to welcome her as the newest addition to the Eldercare team. She has recently achieved her SOLLA accreditation and sees Eldercare as being aligned with her values and advice standards and therefore the natural home to grow her care funding advice business from. Julie describes herself as “a natural problem solver and strategic thinker”.
Care Funding Adviser
Tracy has been with the Company from the very beginning and whilst she is not qualified as an IFA, she holds the Chartered Insurance Institute’s CF8 qualification and her 13 years working alongside Nicky means there is nothing much she doesn’t know when it comes to care funding and the solutions available to families. She oversees our policy purchases, seeing them seamlessly through to implementation as well as managing our advice helpline.
Care Funding Adviser
Roger joined the Eldercare team in 2014 in order to provide additional support on our helpline and now oversees the research part of our advice process, ensuring clients are kept fully informed as to the progress of their applications. He too holds the Chartered Insurance Institute’s CF8 qualification and provides sound and practical guidance to those making initial enquiries with us.
Care Funding Adviser
Sarah has also been with the Company from the outset and her main role is that of making sure we don’t spend too much money. Aside from her tight rein on our finances and the settling of all our accounts, Sarah also holds the Chartered Insurance Institute’s CF8 qualification and is always willing and able to assist with the calls to our helpline.
Property Sales Adviser
Mike heads up Eldercare Property Partners and has many years’ experience assisting families with the, often time-consuming and emotional process of selling a loved one’s property when they move into residential care. Along with everyone else on the team, Mike holds the Chartered Insurance Institute’s CF8 qualification and he is also the main contact for any of the Care Providers that we work with.
