Advice is comprehensive and thorough and will include:

  • Advice on state benefits

  • Verification that the local authority has conducted a correct financial assessment and correct application of the 12 week disregard

  • Working out how long a client’s capital will last

  • Funding methods, including a care fees payment plan

  • Advice on whether to sell or rent a property or apply to the local authority for a deferred loan scheme

  • Cash assistance to help meet urgent care fees or to purchase a care fees payment plan before the property is sold

  • Verification to the care home that funding is sufficient to meet private fee rates now and in the future
